The Trip

The Trip:

Hello, and welcome to my Road Trip 2008 blog/journal. If you are reading this, chances are you know me. For those that don't (this blog is being left public, please post comments accordingly!), my name is Watson, and I am about to go on a trip across the country and back.

The Route:

Here is the route (roughly) I am going to be taking on my month long, 6500 mile road trip. Atlanta to St. Louis to Milwaukee to Crazy Horse to Bonneville to Delta, UT to Mesa Verde to Grand Canyon to Meteor Crater to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to Hawleywood's Barber Shop to the Palomar Observatory to a beach in San Diego to Alamagordo, NM (home of the Manhattan Project) to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin (tentative) to home. And any of it is subject to change at a moment's notice.

My Motives:
As soon as I saw that gasoline was climbing towards and past $4.00 per gallon, I thought to myself, "Now would be the perfect time to burn a WHOLE LOT of gasoline!"
After 7 years, May 9th was my last day at my previous employer. Now that I am between jobs, I thought that I would take advantage of the gap and do something I have always wanted to do. I was born in this country. I grew up and live in it. And I haven't even seen it. Well, I've seen parts of it, but never like this.
This is the traditional grand tour.

So, keep checking this spot. This is where I will be posting updates. with pictures. and maybe even some video.

One day, I hope we can do the same thing, but as for now, it's all up to you my friend!

Best of luck and be safe!
